SimulationUnits

Declaration of the simulation units.

A consistent set of units should be used throughout the simulation inputs. All inputs including coordinates, material properties and boundaries conditions should be defined in this system.

For example, the SI system of meters, kilograms, seconds and Kelvin.

Declaration of units is used for determining physical constants, but is otherwise only informational.

Currently, declaration of units is only required for:

  • radiation boundary conditions

Fields

  • length_unit: LengthUnit, default = Undefined

    Length units used in simulation inputs

  • mass_unit: MassUnit, default = Undefined

    Mass units used in simulation inputs

  • temperature_unit: TemperatureUnit, default = Undefined

    Temperature units used in simulation inputs

  • time_unit: TimeUnit, default = Undefined

    Time units used in simulation inputs

  • energy_unit: EnergyUnit, default = Undefined

    Energy units used in simulation inputs

  • power_unit: PowerUnit, default = Undefined

    Power units used in simulation inputs (this option is provided as a shortcut, but needs to be consistent with other units if entered)
